Support Seattle’s Middle School Athletes — Help Level the Playing Field

These programs are jointly funded by SPS and the Families and Education Levy through the Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL). While the levy covers coaching stipends and transportation, all other costs — including uniforms and equipment — must be covered by the schools themselves

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) proudly offers middle school athletic programming across 12 middle schools and 10 K-8 campuses

Each year, more than 5,000 middle school students participate in sports such as:

  • Coed Ultimate
  • Boys & Girls Basketball
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Coed Track
  • Boys Soccer

These programs do more than build athletic skills — they foster academic success, leadership, resilience, and self-confidence.
Students involved in school-based athletics benefit from:

  • Improved attendance and academic performance
  • Development of teamwork and life skills
  • Structured, supervised, and safe engagement
  • Increased self-esteem and self-awareness
  • Opportunities for leadership and mentorship
  • Access to academic support

However, many schools struggle to provide basic athletic necessities. While some benefit from PTA or Booster Club support, others — especially Title I and LAP-funded schools — do not.
For the 2025–26 school year, 13 secondary schools (including 4 middle schools, 3 K-8s, and 6 high schools) have Free and Reduced Lunch rates exceeding 40%.

Our goal is to raise $26,000 so that we can send $2,000 to each of the 13 secondary schools so they can buy the necessary uniforms to fully equip their teams.
Please note 100% of your donation will be forwarded to the schools. In addition, every dollar donated will be matched at 100% by XXX.
